About us

Founded in 2004, the University Handbell Club (UHC) is the only student organization dedicated to practicing and performing the unique art handbell ringing. The UHC plays a variety of music varying from religious or classical to today's greatest hits and yesterday's favorites! We perform several times throughout each semester at venues all over Pittsburgh. Come out and see us!

Meet the Club Officers:

Director

Jesse Kimball is a junior majoring in neuroscience and minoring in religious studies and chemistry. They started playing handbells with their church ensemble in high school and have been playing ever since. Outside of handbells they enjoy their work as a lab assistant, sailing, and a wide range of artistic endeavors.

Business Manager

Ben Adams is sophomore pursuing a degree in Computer Science. This is Ben’s second year in the ensemble, but his first year as the club’s business manager! When not “managing business”, Ben can be found hanging out with friends, writing for Pitt’s satire newspaper, or coding on his laptop.

Assistant Director

Sarah Lindley is a sophomore molecular biology major. This is her second year playing with the ensemble. Outside of ringing, she enjoys piano, reading, geeking out over genetics, writing about science, and making to-do lists. Sarah is so grateful for all of her fellow ringers and is always excited to see what the future of the ensemble holds!
